It started nearly five decades ago with a crack of thunder, a distant bell ringing and then that monstrous riff that shook the earth.  The heaviest rock sound ever heard. The true innovators of heavy metal will be taking to the stage in Dublin’s 3Arena on Friday, January 20th for the very last time as they embark on the final eight shows of their mind-blowing career.

There have been countless reports, documentaries, books and lectures telling the mystical tales of Black Sabbath’s origin and although no stone has been left unturned, the captivating intensity of the band still continue to reign supreme in the vast and slightly overcrowded genre heavy metal.

Now for the very last time, the pioneers of metal will be performing in Ireland for the first of their final eight shows before hanging up their crucifixes for the last time. Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler return to close the final chapter in the final volume of the incredible Black Sabbath story.

Black Sabbath’s farewell tour, The End, is currently wowing fans all over Europe, surpassing all previous tours with their most mesmerising production ever.

When this tour concludes, it will truly be The End.

Overdrive can also reveal that Trident Events will be hosting a bumper Black Sabbath Aftershow party in Dublin’s iconic rock club Fibber Magees, with a whole host of live entertainment confirmed. With bands starting as early as 8pm, punters can enjoy live sets from Irish rockers Stillroom, APPO and Jack & The Darlings, before the post-gig entertainment begins.

The spellbinding Dublin-based SCREAMING GIANTS will be headlining the main stage shortly after rockers, JAILBIRD is finished blowing the roof off the venue.

Overdrive will be in attendance for the duration of the night and are honoured to be playing out the rest of the night with a very special DJ set that will be packed full of Rock and Metal classics as well as a healthy amount of Sabbath tunes! Admission is €5.00.
