ALBUM REVIEW – SKELETAL REMAINS ‘FRAGMENTS OF THE AGELESS’

Posted on by Oran

Skeletal Remains continue to create outstanding 21st Century Death Metal, with a respectful nod to the old guard.

I’ll get straight to the point. Skeletal Remains are simply a fantastic entity. Like a becon of bright light in a vast dumping ground of Death Metal detritus.

Their previous effort, ‘The Entombment of Chaos’ was equally breathtaking, and if I remember correctly, I stated that said album would be hard to follow.

Well, let me hold Skeletal Remains collective beers, because not only did they smash it on ‘Fragments Of The Ageless’, but they have raised the bar so high, I need binoculars to get a glimpse of it!

With a rejuvenated new line up, the albums track-listing shows tremendous confidence from bold arrangements on ‘To Conquer The Devout’, and ‘Forever in Sufferance’ to the razor-sharp intensity of, ‘Void of Despair’, and the spellbinding instrumental album-closer, ‘…Evocation (The Rebirth).

If you’re searching for a perfect bridge between old and new Death Metal, then Skeletal Remains are the very definition of that balance. Magnificent!

Pre-order ‘Fragments of The Agelesshere. Release date set for March 8th via Century Media.
