ALTERNATIVE ART SPACE, ‘GALLERY X’ IS BACK WITH A NEW LOCATION!

Posted on by Oran

Gallery X, the Dublin-based alternative art gallery is finally gearing up for a reopening on March 3rd in a brand new location.

With the long and painful lockdown restrictions over the last 23 months, Dublin city has become somewhat of a cultural wasteland.

That’s all about to change as the dawn of a new age for Gallery X begins on March 3rd in their brand new location, 11 Hume Street, Dublin D2.

Welcoming many works of art/sculpture and photography from the darkest of minds, Gallery X has curated some incredible events in the past, showcasing a wide array of artists, not only from Ireland but from all over the world.

The team behind the gallery are inviting the public to come and check out the treasure trove of alternative pieces that will be on show this coming March 3rd and are still seeking new works of art to be shown, so if you’re interested, please get in touch.

Commenting on the March 3rd opening, the gallery states:

“Thanks to all the artists who have responded to our pleas and to the enthusiasm of all lovers of unconventional and unrepentant art in this beautiful town, we already have a slew of exhibitions planned by Irish-resident and international artists, as well as conferences, workshops, and performances. They will all be announced in due course.

For now, we want to welcome you all to our new venue on 3 March 2022 at 6PM for an evening of celebration of weird and wonderful art.

Did you just say What can I expect to see on 3 March? Sorry but these 2 years of listening to gloomy music in my headphones have made me a bit deaf.

To start, we have gathered the best works from a group of gallery stalwarts and new arrivals that will form the core of the GalleryX permanent collection.

The new gallery will feature a dedicated performance space (see disclaimer here) as well as a small library corner: a collection of dark art books that anyone can sit and peruse at their leisure. More on that anon.

We are also excited to have set apart a whole room to the permanent exhibition of what we think is the most important single Irish work of art of these few years, an immersive experience that will change your way of seeing and thinking about our world.

Gallery X will be re-opening on Thursday 03 March 2022 at 6pm, If you’re interested please email ‘info@galleryx.ie’ to RSVP and secure a place.
