After topping the charts with the massive UK No. 1 album ‘Hail To The King’, the genre-defining rockers grew to provide us with one of the most phenomenal live shows we’ve ever seen – and there’s no way we couldn’t have them top the bill of the first night at the humongous #DL2018.
Live Nation commented on the announcement; “We’ve already announced rock legend Ozzy Osbourne as Sunday’s massive headliner, so adding a name which stays at the top of any serious list of modern rock and metal bands is a sledgehammer slice of news. We’re ecstatic to have them back at Download to tear the place to shreds.”
Andy Copping commented on his excitement to bring them back to the spiritual home of rock, Donington Park: “A real career highlight of mine was giving Avenged Sevenfold their first ever UK festival headline slot, and I’m thrilled to welcome them back.”
You don’t often see bands like Avenged Sevenfold top the charts, but much like seeing them live, they’re not to be underestimated.”

Joining Avenged Sevenfold is the legendary Ozzy Osbourne who will be performing at the festival as part of his ‘Farewell Tour”. The legendary rock icon will close the UK’s long-running rock and metal festival on Sunday night, which marks the end of three days of epic rock between 8-10 June. The headline set will be part of Ozzy Osbourne’s final world tour.
