In conjunction with Hedgehog Productions Ltd, Ireland Underground are creating an exciting pilot for a music show showcasing music and musicians from the Irish Underground scenes. Focusing on genres such as Rock, Metal, Punk and Indie the focus will be on high quality emerging acts and established acts starved of media attention at home.
The purpose of the show according to the official press release intends “to expose the wealth of talent existing in these genres, offer insider tips and techniques, keep you up to date with whats on in our towns and cities and which releases are worth checking out as well as providing an insight into the worlds, scenes and sub-genres thriving on our native soil”.
This all seems to good to be true, however Overdrive can confirm that this is a very real project that has huge potential for not only the bands taking part, but also promises many potential opportunities for venues, promoters and band managers throughout the country.
If anything a TV show like this will create a dialogue amongst the fans and supporters of live music in Ireland and will ultimately help generate a more unified scene, that does not just concentrate on one particular area and sub-genre.
