Having earned the rightful respect for being one of the most consistent architects of sold gold riffs, Grand Magus are most definitely a jewel in the crown when it comes to not only Swedish metal, but heavy music as a whole.

With the new album ‘Wolf God‘ dropping this Friday (April, 19th) via Nuclear Blast, we wanted to know a little more about frontman, JB’s favourite albums in is vinyl collection.

Check out the video below of JB discussing his favourite vinyl albums and the respect he has for the one and only Alice Cooper.

On the new album ‘Wolf God‘, JB comments on the latest single; “Dear headbangers! We have reached the third track from our new album. This is ‘A Hall Clad In Gold’. Who knows what happens when death claims you? The only thing you can do is to be true to yourself and strive toward being the best you can be. Perhaps fate will decide the rest.” Check out that track below;

Wolf God majestically rises over the heavy metal scene, aided by those classic soaring riffs that we have come to expect from the band. The signature groove and heaviness that featured on the album’s predecessor can also be found on the new ninth studio album, which once again provides a fitting home for a number of future classics.

This stunning new cover artwork was created by acclaimed artist, Anthony Roberts (see below).

Recorded in Sweetspot Studio in Sweden, together with producer Staffan Karlsson (ARCH ENEMY, FIREWIND, SPIRITUAL BEGGARS), the cornerstone was laid for another triumphal procession. As the majority of the songs were recorded on the first take, they have an honest, diverse and yet down-to-earth sound that envelops the trio’s true power.

Grand Magus will be headlining the Sophie Stage on Saturday, August 10th as part of the awesome Bloodstock Open Air Festival. You can get tickets here.
