BLOODSTOCK ANNOUNCE TWISTED SISTER – LAST EVER UK PERFORMANCE!

The powers that be behind the Bloodstock Open Air Festival, are busy stacking up the quality line up for next years anticipated gathering which will be taking place on August 11th through 14th in Catton Park, Derbyshire. Adding to the already cracking line up of Saturday headliners MASTODON, is none other than metal legends TWISTED SISTER, who will be taking the Friday night headlining slot! Bloodstock has grown to become the biggest independent metal festival in the UK and is one event that is very close to our hearts here in Overdrive HQ. With a reputation of hosting some of the world’s most iconic metal bands in the lush British countryside across four days, it has become the annual metal event on many a calender for any pure bred metal head!

With the recent announcement that Atlanta, heavyweights MASTODON will be making their debut UK headlining festival appearance, along side the mighty BEHEMOTH and iconic black metal Godfathers, VENOM!

Overdrive can now reveal that New York’s finest TWISTED SISTER will be joining the performance bill for the bands last ever UK performance! Does it get much better than this? We don’t think so! Dee Snider and the rest of TWISTED SISTER have been bothering the mainstream since 1976 and have been a royal pain in the ass to all who have tried to eradicate the kingdom of metal. Considering that this will be the last time UK audiences will be able to witness the crushing live spectacle of TWISTED SISTER perform on their shores, makes Bloodstock 2016, just a little more special.

Joining TWISTED SISTER for the Saturday headliner slot, will be MASTODON, who will be providing their prog infused, mountain heavy anthems as well as a UK festival exclusive from BEHEMOTH, who are set to play their critically lauded current album, The Satanist in full, as Friday’s special guests.

Frontman and band visionary, Nergal proclaims, “Our Bloodstock performance from 2013 was one of the highlights of our long career! Just thinking about that night gives me shivers and makes me hungry for more. It is with utmost PLEASURE and HONOUR that we announce our show in 2016! We’ll be performing THE SATANIST in full…! We literally cannot wait to come back to UK shores!”

Also appearing on Friday’s bill are seminal black metal icons, VENOM.
