BLOODSTOCK METAL 2 THE MASSES IRELAND – THE 35 BANDS OF 2018!

As we smash into another great year for Irish metal, Overdrive and Jetrocker Events, have once again teamed up with Bloodstock Festival for another crushing display of sheer strength from the current Irish metal scene. Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, step up to METAL 2 THE MASSES IRELAND 2018!

Has it been a year already? Oh well, I guess time flies when you’re having fun. Overdrive, in association with Jetrocker Events and Bloodstock Open Air, are beyond excited to bring you the official line-up for Metal 2 The Masses Ireland 2018!

Taking place in Fibber Magees on Dublin’s Parnell Street, Metal 2 The Masses Ireland will crack open the 2018 metal campaign on January 20th. We will be bringing you a total of 11 events, showcasing 35 bands, which will all come to a banging finalé for the nail-biting climax on Saturday, May 12th, where official Bloodstock booking agent Simon Hall will be present to hand-pick the winning band that will proceed to represent Ireland at this year’s Bloodstock Festival, alongside the likes of Judas Priest, Gojira, Nightwish, Suicidal Tendencies, Emperor, Kamelot, Devildriver, Mr Big, Doro, Watain and many more!

This year, one of the 35 bands listed below will be following in the footsteps of Warpath, Psykosis, Animator, Ten Ton Slug, zhOra, Two Tales of Woe, Na Cruithne, Snowblind and Dead Label, who have all played the festival across many stages throughout the festivals awesome legacy.

This year, the quality of bands has been overwhelming, to say the least, with a vast range of genres from thrash, sludge and hardcore to rock, progressive and metalcore.

• Each of the first seven Metal 2 The Masses heats will showcase all 35 bands taking part, with a voting system that consists of official M2TM voting slips (one per person) available at each event and or course, the official judge’s votes.
• Each heat will see two bands proceed to the semi-finals in April, where six bands will perform, seeing two selected from each semi-final for the grand final on Saturday, May 12th.

The final six bands will showcase for a winning slot at this year’s Bloodstock Open Air festival, chosen exclusively by Simon Hall of Bloodstock, based on punters votes and overall performance. 

• The first seven heats will be free admission, with voting slips available at €3.00 per person from the judge’s table, throughout the night’s performances.
• The semi-finals will be €5.00 admission, which includes one voting slip, per punter.
• The Metal 2 The Masses Ireland final on Saturday, May 12th will be €10.00 admission (early bird €5.00 between 7pm/8pm) and includes one voting slip, per person.
