Never before has the competition offered such a varied selection of bands and from all over the country also! The most painful part of the entire process has finally arrived at our door with the rules stating that only ONE band can represent each region / country on the New Blood Stage in August.
The level of professional bands that are currently contributing to the countries impressive metal scene is simply astounding! This year we have seen a huge range of talent coming from the likes of Tipperary, Cork, Galway and Dublin as well as other parts of our little green Island!
The final six bands that will find themselves on stage at this years final is as follows:
AeSect

CALL TO ARMS
‘We Are The Core”! The Dublin based Call To Arms don’t fuck around and judging by the bands presence during this years Metal 2 The Masses they want this more than anything in the world right now! The five piece have generated an impressive local following that has resulted in their live shows being chaotic and packed full of adrenalin! Being one of the youngest bands to take part in this years campaign, you should not be fooled by the band members vintage as they certainly know how to destroy, rebuild and destroy again with each track!

Minus Ten Thousand Hours are without a doubt the most diverse band taking part in this years Metal 2 The Masses Irish Final. Smashing genres together with earth shattering results, there is no escaping the bands breath taking live shows. Expect guitars being thrown around the place – with little regard, all the while a face smashing aural assault is rammed down your throat!

TEN TON SLUG
There’s nothing link a dose of “Doom n’ Groove” and Ten Ton Slug have this by the bucket load! Hailing from Galway, TTS have just smashed down the doors of this years Metal 2 The Masses Ireland with a sound that is captivating and built to fucking destroy! Ten Ton Slug seem to tick all the boxes when it comes to making it to the New Blood stage as they have the groove, the heaviness and a very charismatic front man that has one hell of a set of pipes! Either way, win loose or draw, Fibbers is gonna get ‘slugged’ big time on Saturday night!

TWO TALES OF WOE
A band that just plough through the font lines of metal with an unassuming manner and tangible passion for what they do. If you have not seen Two Tales of Woe in a live setting then you are in for one hell of a treat as they can pack the atmosphere of a festival into a room from the notes of the first song! Sounding momentous throughout this years Metal 2 The Masses, no one can dispute that Two Tales of Woe have one seriously bright future ahead of them, that’s for sure! The band released a statement via Overdrive yesterday that they will be playing “Burning Lands” for the very first time on Saturday night! Do not miss!

zhOra
From their first appearance at this years Bloodstock Metal 2 The Masses campaign, zhOra have been just jaw dropping. The Clonmel based four piece have become one of Ireland’s most talked about unsigned bands due to their mesmerizing live shows, which are a testament to the standard of metal in Ireland. Utterly mind-blowing! zhOra create dark and ultra-violent riffs that are larger than mythical giants, while in the same breath unleash some of the most delicate, intriguing compositions and arrangements pulling the listening in like a moth to a gas lamp! New album is due for release in the coming months so keep your eyes and ears open!

Bloodstock Metal 2 The Masses Ireland – The Final, will be taking place in Dublin’s Fibber Magees on Saturday May 7th with one band being chosen to represent Ireland at this years Bloodstock Festival on the New Blood Stage.
Simon Hall from Bloodstock UK will be there to hand pick the winning band as well as give away a pair of Bloodstock Festival Full camping tickets to one lucky winner!
The runner up band will win a bespoke custom designed EPK (Electronic Press Kit ) from Overdrive which is a vital tool used in today’s music by bands to secure shows and press with agents, media, press, record labels and promoters.
Doors are 7.00pm with a special ‘early bird’ price of €5.00 between 7pm / 8pm to which full admission of €10.00 will be made active.
