Yes, folks, the latest additions come in the shape of Cancer Bats, who will be performing on the Ronnie James Dio main stage slot on Saturday.
The bands latest album was released without any pre-promo last year and has been one of the most crushing releases from the Canadian four-piece that will no doubt level the main area and warm up the punters in time for Parkway Drive!
Also appearing at the festival is Norway’s Taake who are set to headline Saturday night on the Sophie Lancaster stage. The band’s controversial history and more recent issues with their North American tour should not be taken from their brutal live assault which will no doubt be a highlight over the weekend.
Returning to Bloodstock this year sees Raging Speedhorn who will be performing on Friday, as special guests on the Sophie Lancaster stage. The guys recently played a crushing show with Crowbar in London’s Underworld for their 2oth anniversary so if you missed that, now’s your chance to soak it all in.
Birmingham metalheads SHVPES will be also hitting the Sophic state on Saturday which should not be missed. The guys are preparing to jet off to the US on tour next month to do some damage stateside before they make their appearance at BOA.
Joining them also on the Sophie stage is Generation Kill. This NY-based five-piece featuring Rob Dukes on vocals will be bringing their A-Game to Bloodstock for a lesson in violence! The former Exodus frontman is known for not taking any prisoners and delivering spectacular live shows.
Returning once again to Bloodstock, Resin will play the Sophie stage on Sunday, with their musical style derived from deep-rooted heavy Grunge inspirations such as Alice in Chains, Stone Temples Pilots and Seether – to name but a few… After listening to Resin for a short while, you’ll soon realise that there is so much more going on here!
The band provide a modern twist to the 90’s Grunge movement – mixing it up to bring something rather unique to the table.
With more bands to yet to be announced, Friday night headliners, SABATON, Saturday headliners PARKWAY DRIVE and Sunday’s bill-toppers SCORPIONS, together with ANTHRAX, DIMMU BORGIR, CHILDREN OF BODOM, CODE ORANGE, POWERWOLF, SOILWORK, CRADLE OF FILTH, THY ART IS MURDER, TESSERACT, METAL CHURCH, SOULFLY, DEATH ANGEL, DEE SNIDER, QUEENSRYCHE, ELUVEITIE, SWALLOW THE SUN, EVIL SCARECROW, ROSS THE BOSS, GRAND MAGUS, ROTTING CHRIST, INCITE and HYPOCRISY will be appearing on the Catton Park stages this August. Stay tuned for even more bands to be announced soon!
