Everything appears to be going according to plan with the final stages of the recording process for the tenth studio album from multi-platinum alternative metal outfit, Deftones.

Last month, during the acclaimed Sacramento, CA band’s first live shows of the year as part of the annual ‘Coachella‘ festival, vocalist/guitarist Chino Moreno gave an update on their progress with that record.

Speaking with KROQ, he revealed that the whole opus had already been recorded musically, with only his vocal tracks remaining. He also vowed that soon after wrapping up the ‘Coachella‘ shows, he would be entering a studio in his home base of Oregon to finish off the the record.

The initial sessions for the album wrapped in Nashville, TN earlier this year, reportedly under producer Nick Raskulinecz (Alice In ChainsFoo Fighters), who previously worked with the group on 2010’s “Diamond Eyes” and its 2012 follow-up “Koi No Yokan“.

A social media post newly shared by David “Beno” Benviste, CEO and founder of the band’s longtime management group Velvet Hammer, confirms that Raskulinecz has joined Moreno in the studio for this last leg of recording for the album.

For now, further details regarding the effort and when you can expect to hear it remain pending.
