This particular remix was helmed by Danny Lohner (aka Renhölder of Nine Inch Nails.
According to the band, Moreno found out Vowws organically and began championing them on social media and radio, eventually inviting them to play last year’s inaugural ‘Dia de los Deftones‘ festival in San Diego.
Deftones are currently working on the follow-up to 2016’s ‘GORE‘ release. It was the band’s first LP in roughly four years and debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Top 200 with 69,000 traditional units.
In August, the band posted two photos on Instagram of guitarist Stephen Carpenter in the studio, sparking rumours that new music was on the horizon.
The pictures also sparked intrigue amongst fans due to Carpenter having notoriously felt left out of Gore’s writing process. “When we were coming up with ideas and writing the songs, the stuff that was being written, you know, the other guys’ ideas, I wasn’t too interested in it,” he told Ultimate Guitar. “It wasn’t the style or the sound I was hoping we would take. It wasn’t what I was expecting or wanting,”
With nothing significant on their schedule for the immediate future, it would seem as though the band are going to be spending a good portion of time on whatever it is that they’re working on. It remains unclear, however, whether or not they are putting together material for a new album.
