South London-based heavy rock quintet GREEN LUNG have inked a deal with Finnish label, Svart Records.

The first item on the agenda for the new partnership is a reissue of GREEN LUNG’S 2019 debut full length, Woodland Rites.

The album garnered widespread critical acclaim upon its release and will receive a full reissue via the label later this year. The band has also announced a run of European dates kicking off at Desertfest London in May.

Of his latest signing, Svart RecordsTomi Pulkki comments:
Green Lung are rising stars and we’re very proud to be able to help further their occult doom-rock deeds, and expand their ever-growing cult.

Doom Metal and occult rock is in our blood at Svart, having reissued lush editions of bands such as Reverend Bizarre and Pentagram, and also introduced cult new acts such as Hexvessel and Jess & The Ancient Ones

Green Lung hybridise seeds from the past and grow a whole new unearthly garden of folk horror from the black earth of ’70s & 80s dark psychedelia. One of the new signings that we feel epitomises everything Svart Records has been about since day one, we’re so excited to head into a heavy future with Green Lung!

The band add:
We’re so excited to finally announce that we’ve signed with Svart for our next album, and also to reissue our discography so far. They’re the undisputed masters of releasing doom and occult rock, and it’s been especially great working with Mat McNerney, who really understands everything from an artist’s perspective.

We can’t wait to get ‘Woodland Rites’ back on wax, and introduce these songs to new audiences on our first ever headline tour in May – especially alongside our favourite ghouls in Juniper Grave!

Green Lung will be performing at this year’s Bloodstock Open Air Festival and will be their very first time performing at an outdoor UK Festival.
