Speaking of the new single, guitarist Gary Regan says; “Enemy Within” is one of those songs that just happened organically for us. We stumbled upon a riff that sounded cool, and from there, the rest of the song fell into place effortlessly.
While we did make some adjustments during the guitar tracking process, the essence of the song remained unchanged since we first demoed it. Interestingly, it ended up being the last song we wrote for the EP. It’s an absolute blast to play, and we’re excited to share it with everyone“.
Not only is the new single out today, but the band can now reveal a new self-titled EP will be available from April 5th featuring three new tracks (including ‘Enemy Within‘). The cover artwork for the EP can be viewed below:
This past November, the band announced their return to the live stage with their first appearance at UK’s Takedown Festival in Portsmouth Guildhall on April 13th & 14th.
They will share a bill with the likes of Creeper, Dinosaur Pile Up, Kid Kapachi Employed to Serve, Hell is for Heroes, Urne, Pupil Slicer, Grove Street, Cassyette, Terrorvision, Black Gold, A, Dream State, and many more.
Says the band on returning to the live stage: “It’s been a long time coming and it’s never felt so right. This is something that’s been hibernating inside of us for so long, and now we get to let it out. We are very excited to perform our first live show in years at Takedown Festival alongside some incredible artists.”

More info:
Hero in Error, a metal-hardcore band formed in Dublin, Ireland, in 2007, embodies a fusion of intensity and innovation.
Founded by Stephen Reilly and Gary Regan, the band’s inception was fuelled by the desire to blend the diverse styles of Mastodon, Deftones, Smashing Pumpkins, and Sikth.
Their journey began with the release of their debut EP produced by Justin Hill, “The High Points of New Lows,” in 2010, a project that captured the attention of the local metal scene, and led to their signing with Mediaskare Records in the U.S. the following year.
Alongside this achievement, the band also earned the opportunity to support established acts like Mastodon, Parkway Drive, Architects, and The Ghost Inside. The addition of Rob Powderly in 2011, further solidified the band’s lineup.
Despite a promising start, Hero in Error encountered a challenging phase with member changes, leading to a hiatus from 2013 to 2016. This interlude, however, was not the end but a prelude to a resurgence. The band re-emerged with renewed vigor introducing vocalist Kaan Tasan (Heart of a Coward).
Their return was marked by the release of “Hollow Truth” in 2016, and was soon followed by the 2017 EP, “Obey”. These releases were not just a continuation, but a reinvention, showcasing a band that had matured and evolved in their sound.
Hero in Error are:
