As reported by Overdrive in back in June, Maryland-based rockers LIONIZE will be making their long-awaited return to Ireland with a very special, pre-Bloodstock performance in Dublin’s Fibber Magees with support from Dead Label, and Bloodstock Metal 2 The Masses Ireland 2017 winners zhOra and Na Cruithne.

To celebrate the band’s return to the Irish capital, Lionize will be offering one lucky punter the chance to win the ultimate merchandise bundle, consisting of the discography (3 signed albums), special tour poster (signed) and T-shirt, as well as two passes to the gig on Wednesday, August 9th in Fibber Magees on Dublin’s Parnell Street.

Having not performed in Ireland since the sold out Clutch show in Dublin’s Academy back in June of 2014, this will mark the band’s final show before they take to the stage this year’s Bloodstock Open Air Festival which kicks off the very next day in Derbyshire, UK.

Currently preparing for their UK/Ireland run of shows with highlights being their debut performance at this year’s Ramblin’ Man Fair on July 29th, the band – consisting of Chris Brooks (keys), Henry Upton (bass), Chase Lapp (drums), and Nate Bergman (guitar) – have been hard at work putting the finishing touches on their new studio album, set for release this Summer via new label The End Records.

Frontman Nate Bergman raves, “Coming back to Ireland and the UK after our tour with Clutch, is such an exciting feeling! On that run, we tried out some new songs we’d been working on and the response and energy was something like we’ve never felt live. To be able to come back again is really a privilege!

All of our favourite bands through rock and roll’s history were either from the UK and Ireland or got a following there before the USA caught on. To top it all off, we’re playing Bloodstock and Ramblin’ Man Fair! How many bands can say they did both of those?! Can’t wait to show you what we have this Summer.”

Lionize with special guests Dead Label, 2017 Bloodstock Metal 2 The Masses Ireland winners, ZhOra and Na Cruithne, will be taking place in Fibber Magees main venue on Wednesday, August 9th. Tickets for the event are priced at €10.00 (inc booking fee) and will be available exclusively at the venue door only on the evening of the show, so first come first served.
