Opening with the relentless “Blood, Tears, Dust,” the band set the tone for an evening that celebrated both their legacy and their evolution. Fan-favorites like “Heaven’s a Lie” and “Swamped” were reimagined with modern vigor, while new offerings like “Sword of Anger” and “Veneficium” showcased the band’s heavier edge. Scabbia’s soaring vocals contrasted beautifully with Ferro’s guttural growls, a balance that remains the heart of Lacuna Coil’s appeal.
The crowd erupted during “Our Truth,” singing every word as bassist Marco Coti Zelati and guitarist Diego Cavallotti delivered thunderous riffs, perfectly underpinned by Richard Meiz’s intricate drumming. A haunting rendition of Depeche Mode’s “Enjoy the Silence” provided a poignant breather before the encore reignited the audience’s fervor. Closing with the empowering anthem “Nothing Stands in Our Way,” the band left fans in euphoric awe.
The intimate venue amplified the connection between the band and their fans, who were enraptured by Lacuna Coil’s theatricality and sincerity. From the shadowy atmosphere of “Veneficium” to the cathartic release of “Tight Rope”, this was a night where Dublin became a sanctuary for gothic metal’s most dedicated devotees.
A masterclass in passion and performance. 4/5
