Horror Groove-Rockers, ‘Lugosi’, are back with new single ‘We Drink Blood’. Get a full blast of the track below…

As we stagger towards the end of 2020 with a trail of destruction behind us, we can all take solace in the fact that good music has managed to remain intact despite a global pandemic, cluster-fuck politics and murder hornets!

Released on Halloween [sorry we’re late], the mighty Lugosi have returned with a track that would give The Misfits a run for their money on the best of days.

Imagine a very high Clutch possessed with whiskey and ’80s horror references? Well, that’s what we have right here folks and it’s fucking awesome!!

Check out ‘We’re Here to Drink Blood’ below;

We spoke to the guys about the inspiration to the track as well as the latest news on their forthcoming new album and this is what they had to say…

OD – Give us the top 5 Horror VHS movies you talk about in the press release for “I Drink Blood”?

Neal Wright (bass) – I’d have to say…

[1] Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Tobe Hopper’s masterpiece. As old as us and still relevant. You can almost smell the death in the air.

[2] Phantasm. 1978’s phantasmagorical gorefest features flying chrome balls that can carve through your skull. Essential.

[3] Evil Dead 2. So good we wrote a song about it.

[4] A Nightmare on Elm Street. Wes Cravens first, and greatest chapter of the Freddie Saga. Elm Street was the street where JFK was ambushed…

[5] Master of the Flying Guillotine. Combining Kung-Fu and decapitation is always a hit-add a soundtrack of krautrock and it’s a no brainer.

OD – Do you have an update on any more material/EP or perhaps an album?

ALAN MORTON (GUITARS) – The album “Video Nasty” is complete. Nine tracks, recorded in Trackmix during breaks in the lockdown with the first session just before the weekend of the first lockdown, last session the night before the most recent lockdown. Michael [TRAKMIX] had to cancel a lot of bookings, we just got lucky with the dates we had booked.

OD –  If, so, when can we expect to see a release date and will there be a vinyl option?

REV JM BURR (VOCALS) – Release date TBD, but physical copy out by year-end and we are planning 7′ Red Vinyl for our next single. We’ll be taking advance orders on that as numbers will be limited.

OD – Tell us the worst horror movie you can remember. So bad, that it was good? ‘

JIMMY ROONEY [DRUMS] – ‘Trick or Treat’ is our favourite for the ‘so bad it’s good’ category. A ripping Fastway soundtrack, a cameo by Gene Simmons, [and Ozzy], all wrapped up in glorious 80’s nostalgia. See the official trailer below…

OD – If you could be one iconic Horror Movie character in any movie, who and what would it be?

JM –  I would want to be the woman who survived at the end of Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Imagine how much money you would make in book sales? [Laughing]
