The 67-year-old reportedly passed away peacefully yesterday, according to a statement on the band’s official Facebook page.
The post read: ‘We are devastated to pass on the news we only just heard ourselves earlier tonight, Edward Allan Clarke – or as we all know and love him ‘Fast’ Eddie Clarke – passed away peacefully yesterday.”
Guitarist ‘Fast’ Eddie, the last remaining member of the classic rock band Motörhead, passed away peacefully in hospital on Wednesday, January 10th, after a battle with pneumonia. The sad news was announced on Motörhead’s official Facebook page. He was the only surviving member of the group – which also included Lemmy and Phil Taylor.
Eddie, born in Twickenham, London, in October 1950, was also known for his work with Fastway.
The band’s post reads: “We are devastated to pass on the news we only just heard ourselves earlier. Edward Allan Clarke – or as we all know and love him Fast Eddie Clarke – passed away peacefully yesterday.”
“Ted Carroll (who formed Chiswick Records) made the sad announcement via his FB page, having heard from Doug Smith that Fast Eddie passed peacefully in hospital where he was being treated for pneumonia.”
