Taking place on Saturday, July 28th in Fibber Magees (DOWNSTAIRS), the 2018 official Irish Bloodstock Festival Club night is packed full of blistering metal, drink promos and much more!
Here’s a breakdown of what to expect on the night!
Dead Label
Rising modern metal crew, DEAD LABEL will be headlining this special event making it their last Irish date before they take to the Sophie Lancaster stage on Saturday, 11th August at Bloodstock Open Air Festival in Derbyshire, UK.
With a legacy that has already involved touring with some of the world’s most exciting metal acts, across three continents – not forgetting an impressive amount of critical acclaim from a host of respectable media outlets, DEAD LABEL have finally released their first new track since their highly acclaimed ‘Throne of Bones’ sophomore LP last June.
Released on March 7th and gaining over nine thousand views in the first week, ‘Pure Chaos’ sees DEAD LABEL capture the essence of their live sound and enhancing it in a recorded environment. With the last two years being of significant importance, due to their debut North American 40 date tour, (which saw them perform in 30 states), DEAD LABEL gained significant international interest following a vast amount of European, UK and Irish dates, with the likes of Machine Head, Gojira, Fear Factory and Raging Speedhorn to name but a few.
A slew of Summer shows followed with appearances at festivals such as, Bloodstock (UK), main stage billing Metal Days (Slovenia), Made of Metal and Aggressive Music Festival (Czech Republic) and Gothoom Open Air (Slovakia), eventually leading to the band’s ‘Hot New Band’ feature in Metal Hammer (December, 2016 issue) and their critically acclaimed slot at 2017’s UK Download Festival.
Having already performed at this years Hammerfest UK back in March, Dead Label are currently working on the follow-up to ‘Throne Of Bones’ and will be performing at this year’s Bloodstock Open Air Festival (August) in the UK followed by some live dates with Devil Driver in mid-August.
Snowblind
Joining the bill are Dublin-based metal beasts, SNOWBLIND. Taking a mix of influences from the likes of Thin Lizzy, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath and Mastodon, to name but a few, Snowblind are a formidable live band that can generate levels of sonic power that few and imitate.
Having played at Bloodstock Festival back in 2015, the band unleash elements of progressive, thrash and classic metal with a hot serving of visceral determination and glorious furiosity.
Formed in early 2012 by guitarist Sean Boland and drummer Jake McCarthy, the pair recruited Ian Mckeon on bass and vocals to complete the formidable power trio formation.
Releasing their debut EP “Existence Is Futile” in early 2014, Snowblind began to explore their sound within the metal genre.
ELEMENT X
The lineup continues with this year’s Bloodstock Metal 2 The Metal finalists, Element X who bring one hell of a noise to the stage. Their powerhouse classic metal sound has been a favourite of Overdrive since witnessing their live performances earlier in the year.
Having been active since early 2014 Element X combine different genres and influences, through their music as they continue to broaden their repertoire. With elements of classic rock, metal, punk, funk and grunge, they form the ultimate element in Element X and simply can not be missed!
TOWERS
Based in Belfast, Northen Ireland, TOWERS progressive hardcore four-piece will be opening the evening’s proceedings downstairs in Fibber Magees in Dublin city centre.
Starting off as a young Belfast hardcore band in 2014 Towers have released 2 EP’s, 2 singles and gigged around the north and south of Ireland extensively since the founding of the band. Towers‘ sound has continued to mature with progressive and groove elements adding to the new vibe of ‘Progressive Hardcore‘. Heavily influenced by an array of musical genres although we have a specific passion for heaviness.
As well as the live music, the official Irish Bloodstock Club Night will feature some market stalls featuring a small representation of some of the countries best illustrators and photographers.
