Overdrive takes a look at the bands that will be taking part in Heat 3 tomorrow night in Fibber Magees! Also, be in with a chance to win tickets to see Slipknot and Suicidal Tendencies in The S.S.E Arena, Belfast on February 15th!

M2TM HEAT 3 - FEB 6TH

After two successful years running Bloodstock Metal 2 The Masses Ireland, Overdrive and Jetrocker are pleased to bring you the 2016 line up for Heat 3, which will be taking place tomorrow night (Saturday 6th February) in Fibber Magees on Dublin’s Parnell Street. Five bands will be performing in the hope of getting the crowd / judges vote to proceed to the semi-finals in March / April and hopefully then on to the final on May 7th.

Previous years have seen the mighty Warpath, Psykosis, Animator, Snowblind and Dead Label all make it to Bloodstock and proceed to gain international exposure with interest from promoters & agents in the UK, Slovenia and Germany.

BLOODSTOCK METAL 2 THE MASSES 2015

With stunning performances from all the bands that have already taken part, Heat 1 saw the utterly crushing Two Tales of Woe, smash through to the semi-finals with the crowd vote and stoner, doom specialists, Nautilus impressing the judges, with their fantastic new material from their highly anticipated forthcoming album.

As we pushed on to Heat 2 (January 23rd), we witnessed another five bands that gave over 100% on stage, with performances that were worthy of any festival stage! Dublin based,  melodic Death Metal crew, Jenova wowed the audience with a spectacular, crushing set that won the crowd vote and Co. Laois based Hard-Rockers, Vendetta Love taking the judges vote. So we now approach Heat 3, Overdrive takes a look at what to expect from the five bands that will be taking to the stage in Fibber Magees tomorrow night!

AINRIAIL

ainriail 2016

AINRIAL are a two piece self proclaimed “Sludge/Stoner/Heft/Nonsense” band from Dublin, that have a tendency to drop mountain sized riffs on top of their unsuspecting audience! If you like your music drenched in fuzzy bass and face punching drumming, then AINRIAIL will be right up your street. With doses of Big Business here and there, AINRIAL can take sudden turns into dark atmospheric bong-smoke, landscapes, before catapulting you back into a fast paced, twangy-fuzz heaven!

Saint Slaughter Band Promo

This is not the first time Saint Slaughter have taken part in the Metal 2 The Masses Ireland and if anything they know the fierce competition that is involved with each years campaign. The band have gone from strength to strength, proving to be a band that we just have to keep an eye on. The Dublin / Belfast four piece consist of Eoin Clarke (vocals), Jeff Hernandez (vocals/guitar), Gordo Casey (bass/vocals) and Tom Moylan (drums). Tight, fast, neck-breaking thrash is on the Saint Slaughter menu and it’s box fresh! Drawing their influences from the classic sounding era of Thrash, the band do some serious damage in a live setting, with elements of Testament, Metallica, Slayer and Overkill, peppered here and there. Not to be missed!

SVEN KANT

SVET KANT Band promo

SVEN KANT is the Slovenian translation for “Holy Failure” and as a Dublin based four piece band, who describe themselves as “Experimental Metal”, we are guessing that failure is not an option! Having formed in 2011, SVET KANT take their influences from Gojira through to Alice In Chains, Animals As Leaders and a hell of a lot in between! Their short and to the point attitude towards their music, is perfectly self-described as, “Svet Kant is an experimental metal band. We bring all of our influences and blend them to create a unique style of music”.

Judging from the bands latest “Loneliness” album, they will be bringing their unique blend of metal to the Fibbers stage, with the force and intensity of a shark attack!. Get front and center for this one kids, your ears are gonna get a pounding!
