REVIEW – GREEN DAY ‘DOOKIE’ 30TH ANNIVERSARY BOXSET

Posted on by Oran

“How the hell has it been 30 years since Green Days ‘Dookie’ was released?” That has been the usual first reaction to this limited edition/numbered boxset which was recently released via Reprise Records/Warner Music.

The literal soundtrack to the early ‘90s, ‘Dookie’ is loaded with nostalgia and the contents in this boxset are very much a reminder of just how much fun things were back in those glorious days.

So, what do you get for your money? Well, there is a whopping 65 tracks, loaded on 6 LP’s featuring a dynamic remastered version of the album, plus, demos, outtakes, a never-before released 1994 audio performance from Barcelona as well as the bands legendary Woodstock ’94 show, which sounds crisp, clear and full of the bands tongue-in-cheek, snappy anthems that made them the superstars they are today.

Additional paraphernalia such as Green Day Dog Poop Bags (yep, you read that right), air fresheners, stickers, large poster, collection of band pins and a killer 30-page booklet documenting the release of the album and the tour that followed.

If you’re a Green Day fan, this is essential for your collection and worth every penny. Pick up a copy from your local records store, on vinyl and CD.
