VENTURE INTO THE WORLD OF DARK FOLKLORE & SHAMANISM WITH A SPECIAL EXHIBITION IN THE IRISH CAPITAL.

Posted on by Oran

Next month Dublin’s In-Spire Art Gallerie, behind the Customs House, hosts a group exhibition by new Irish artist collective “Hidden Knowledge”, which explores the darker side of Irish (and international) folklore, shamanism, mythology, paganism and occult traditions and to bring these traditions out from the shadows; out of the hidden realms.

This artist collective is from Ireland and Italy and encompasses photography, paintings and installations. It’s curated by Ireland-based Italian artist, Irene Gaspari and artists also involved include: Kaos Nest, Damien James O’Farrell, Giusy Grande, Cat Dobson, Marco Vitobello, Fiona Killeen, Gerlanda di Francia, Moon Harpy and Sebiana Trigìla.

This is a self-funded group of artists so they have a final fundraiser night to cover the exhibition costs and it’s this Wednesday 5th September in The Underground on Dame Street and takes the form of an ‘alternative culture’ table quiz. Topics on the table include witchcraft, Irish and international folklore and mythology, alternative music, literature and cinema.

Kick off is at 8 pm with lots of prizes up for grabs and only €5 donation per person to join the fun.

The exhibition will run from the 6th to the 13th of October at In-Spire Galerie, 56 Gardener St., Dublin 1.
