With the 30th Anniversary of Paradise Lost’s legendary ‘Icon’ album now upon us, we caught up with guitarist, Aaron Aedy to talk about the making of that album. Get it all below…

Back in 1993, Paradise Lost released their 4th studio album, ‘Icon’ and saw the bands departure from their early Death/Doom influence.

Overdrive caught up with guitarist, Aaron Aedy for a deep dive on the album’s creation and what was happening within the band during the writing/recording process and thereafter the albums release in September ’93.

“There wasn’t anything around that sounded like the material we wrote for that album. At the end of the day, we write music for ourselves and nobody else“.
