Recorded by Stu Taylor and mixed/mastered by James Arter, the new single is a fierce follow-up and an engrossing taster of what’s to come on their highly anticipated 2nd album. Bassist Rick Owen provides an update.
“HoF feels like a very natural progression from ‘Dominion’ and ‘Draw The Shades’, at its core it’s still very much us but we wanted to explore other areas we only got the chance to touch upon on the first album and experiment with new dynamics. Lyrically, the song is about the duality of the haves/have nots, the living and the dead.
Writing for the album is well underway after a difficult 12 months for the band. We’re excited to get into the studio come spring to lay down the follow up to ‘Dominion’. We have a few songs in the bank already and HoF is just a sample of what’s to come from VN in 2024.”
Comprised of members from some of Liverpool’s finest heavy exports in The Bendal Interlude, SSS, Magpyes and Iron Witch, Video Nasties mixed death metal with punky and thrashy undertones, creating something morbidly macabre and devilishly debauched on their debut record.
Video Nasties went on to play Bloodstock and Damnation Festival as well as supporting the likes of Orange Goblin and touring with fellow horror enthusiasts Aggressive Perfector. Expect more shows to come in 2024.
